Payment Options for CBIT Students

Payment in full

  • Students may pay in full with cash, check or charge, VISA or MasterCard only, using the registration and payment forms.
  • Cash payments must be made in person at the UC Bursar & Registration Office, 700 University Ave., Room 103 Do not send cash in the mail.
  • Checks must be made payable to Syracuse University, in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. No two-party checks are accepted. Post-dated checks can not be accepted or held. The student’s social security number must be written on the check. There is a $15 fee for any returned checks.
  • Charge, VISA or MasterCard only, may be telephoned to 315-443-4135 during our business day or submitted using the registration and payment forms.


Student Tuition Payment Plan

  • Students may pay 25% down prior to classes beginning and defer 75% of the total of tuition and fees.. Sign and return a promissory note for the balance with your registrations and payment forms, and down payment. Payments are due the 1st of the month during the fall semesters, the 20th of the month during the spring semesters, and as per the promissory note for plans covering a complete CBIT program.


Employer-deferred Tuition Payment Plan

  • Qualified working, part-time students may enroll in the Employer-deferred Tuition Plan if their employer reimburses tuition after classes are completed. This payment plan allows tuition payment deferral until thirty (30) days after classes end each semester. See published calendars for specific dates.
  • To be eligible, a completed Employer-deferred Tuition Application must be completed by the student and the student’s employer, then submitted with each semester’s registration and payment forms before classes begin. Students must submit the completed forms to the UC Bursar & Registration Office, 700 University Ave. Syracuse, NY 13244-2530.
  • This payment plan is limited to UC part-time students who are taking credit, CBIT or LAP classes that meet during the regular semester schedule.
  • Neither non-reimbursement by an employer or non-receipt of a grade are exceptions to the payment due date. Extensions will not be granted.
  • Continued eligibility to this payment plan is contingent upon a satisfactory payment history. Syracuse University reserves the right to deny continued participation to anyone who has not complied with the terms specified on the promissory note of the registration and payment forms.


Company Direct Billing

  • Students whose employers have a billing arrangement with Syracuse University must submit the company’s authorization to the UC Bursar & Registration Office, 700 University Ave. Syracuse, NY 13244 before classes begin.
    Sponsored by an outside agency
  • Students who are sponsored by an outside agency must submit verification of sponsorship before classes begin. CNY Works and other Workforce Investment Board Agencies issues a voucher. VESID issues a requisition and the NYS Department of Labor issues a voucher.


Financial Aid/Student Loans

  • CBIT students are not eligible for Federal Financial Aid (Federal Stafford Loans, Pell Grants, SEOG), nor any University College grants.
  • Students may qualify for alternative loans. These loans are based on the students credit worthiness, and may require the student to have a co-signer.
